Story Submission Terms & Permissions

Thank you for trusting us with your story.

Our goal is to tell real autism stories in a respectful, compassionate and accurate way to help other families feel seen and less alone.

By submitting this form, you confirm that:

Your story

  • The information you provide is true to the best of your knowledge.
  • You are happy for Life on the Spectrum to use the information you provide to create a short documentary-style story.

Photos & Videos

  • You own the photos and videos you upload, or you have permission to share them with us.
  • If your submission includes other people, you have permission to provide those images or videos where appropriate.

Editing

  • You understand that we may edit your story for length, clarity and storytelling while remaining true to the information you provide.
  • We may combine your voice notes, written answers, photos and videos to create the finished story.

Narration

  • If you choose to submit written answers instead of voice notes, you understand that we may professionally narrate your story in the third person using your words as the basis for the narration.
  • We will never use AI or any other technology to imitate your own voice without your explicit permission.

Where your story may appear

  • Your story may be shared across Life on the Spectrum's social media channels, website and other platforms.
  • Some of these platforms are monetized, and your story may appear alongside advertising or generate platform revenue.

Contacting you

  • We may contact you if we need clarification or additional information before publishing your story.

Children

  • If your story features a child, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, or that you have permission from their parent or legal guardian to submit the story.

Respecting your story

  • We will always aim to represent your story respectfully and accurately.
  • While we may edit the content for storytelling purposes, we will not knowingly change the meaning or intent of your story.
